Our Story

Our story began in 2010 when Charlie Attar stepped out on his own and founded Crown Services, focusing on multifamily construction and property support. What started as a practical move became the foundation for a nationwide network of builders, operators, and partners.

Between 2014 and 2019, that network led to Charleston, South Carolina, where a joint venture called Build Charleston introduced the team to the discipline and beauty of historic preservation. Working within historic structures reshaped how we viewed buildings. No longer as projects to complete, but as stories to carry forward. This period sparked a lasting commitment to architecture, craftsmanship, and adaptive reuse.

In 2016, that philosophy expanded nationally with the launch of AIR Construction Solutions, dedicated to transforming underutilized and architecturally significant properties into spaces designed for modern life while honoring their past.

By 2017, the company’s growing footprint led to a partnership with David Stern Companies, forming David Stern Construction, a purpose-built construction and transitional management firm. Beyond rehabilitation, the team built operating systems, hired and trained on-site staff, and helped communities function and thrive long after construction was complete.

In 2023, ownership was consolidated and the brand unified under Attaboy Property Services. Working closely inside occupied communities and alongside long-term management partners brought a defining realization: ownership decisions shape daily lives, not just balance sheets.

That insight led to a deliberate reset in 2025. We became intentionally selective; choosing to work with partners who believe housing is both a business and a responsibility. Our focus narrowed to meaningful adaptive reuse, thoughtful construction, and communities built to last.

In 2026, this philosophy takes its most human form with the launch of Abraham’s Tents, a boutique adaptive reuse firm dedicated to transforming religious and architecturally significant properties into thriving residential communities.

To lead Abraham’s Tents, we selected Valerie Meline, whose own story reflects the purpose behind the work. A single mother who rebuilt her life with the support of family, Valerie chose resilience over circumstance, building a career in property management from the ground up and rising to Regional Vice President at national firms. Her leadership ensures our stewardship remains grounded in care, accountability, and respect for the people who call these communities home.
